Jewelers Of America: Submissions For GEM Awards Nominations Being Accepted

(IDEX Online) – The Jewelers of America (JA) national trade association said that submissions are being accepted in four categories for the 16th Annual GEM Awards gala to take place on January 19 in New York.
The JA said that the GEM Awards honors the achievements of individuals and companies whose work raises the visibility of fine jewelry and watches.
The GEM Awards Committee is now seeking suggestions for 2018 GEM Awards nominees in the categories of Jewelry Design, Marketing & Communications, Media Excellence and – new for 2018 – Retail Innovation. Companies and individuals can submit themselves or others for consideration through to June 30.
“Consumer shopping habits are evolving at lightning speed,” says Amanda Gizzi, Director of PR & Events. “We look forward to celebrating the leaders in our industry who are pushing the innovation envelope. Our new GEM Award for Retail Innovation will bring those leaders in retail into the spotlight.”
The GEM Awards Committee will review the submissions and select the 2018 GEM Awards Nominees. After the nominees are announced, a panel of industry experts will vote to determine the winner in each category. An independent auditing firm counts the votes to keep winners confidential until they are announced at the ceremony. There will be three nominees per category, with the exception of Lifetime Achievement, which is presented to a single honoree announced prior to the event.
