DDC Australia President Baron Addresses LA Bourse Members
July 09, 17(IDEX Online) – Diamond Dealers Club of Australia President Rami Baron was a guest speaker at the Diamond Club West Coast (DCWC) where he spoke to an audience of young diamantaires and other bourse members.
Baron spoke about the need to share information, as well as changes taking place in the industry. He also spoke about his goal of bringing about the involvement of the younger generation in the diamond business. Baron spoke on the theme of “Where are we going as an industry?" in which he focused on the involvement of the young diamantaires and the need to pass on to the next generation the ideas passion and inspiration regarding the diamond and jewelry business.
Baron is behind the Young Diamantaires initiative of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses, which aims to encourage greater industry participation among the younger generation.
He also told the audience that there are "amazing opportunities and with the creation of an eco-system here in Los Angeles” which will drive people towards the jewelry industry and successful business, the DCWC said in a statement.
There were many topics of discussion primarily with the focus on both modern technology and social media and the way they are transforming the industry, the DCWC said.
Baron also opened the discussion to questions from the audience and shared his knowledge on a range of trade topics. The following morning he was hosted by the Board of Directors of the DCWC for a breakfast to further discuss the workings of the trade and the DCWC’s opening up of a channel to directly communicate with members of the Diamond Dealers Club of Australia. The sharing of ideas can and will benefit both Clubs and further encourage business worldwide, the DCWC added.
