DIAMONDS ALROSA To Hold Auctions Of Polished Diamonds At HK Show

August 30, 17 by Albert Robinson

(IDEX Online) – DIAMONDS ALROSA will auction its own polished diamonds during the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair next month.

The first auction will take place from September 13-17, featuring large colorless diamonds, as well as certified fancy colored diamonds, including yellow, green, orange and purple colors.

The second auction will be held from September 19-22, with small and medium size diamonds and brown stones on offer.

“We’ve chosen this assortment in accordance with demand on the Asian market," said Pavel Vinikhin, Director of DIAMONDS ALROSA. "Large diamonds of more than five carats are very desirable for premium segment jewelry, and diamonds of less than one carat for the mass market. In addition, we’ll present for the first time a full range of fancy colors of diamonds.”

During the Fair, DIAMONDS ALROSA will also introduce to potential clients The Dynasty, a unique collection of diamonds which is due to be sold at a special online auction in November.

The Dynasty collection consists of five diamonds and was created from a 179-carat rough diamond. The Romanovs, a unique rough diamond, was recovered from the Nyurbinskaya kimberlite pipe in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in 2015. It took a year and a half to create the collection.

The Dynasty, the main diamond, weighs 51.38-carats and is a 57-facet traditional round brilliant-cut diamond, Triple Excellent, D, VVS1 stone. "As to overall characteristics, it is unprecedented in the history of Russia – it is the most expensive diamond with the best clarity characteristics ever cut in our country, the chef d'oeuvre of Russian polishers," ALROSA said in a statement.
