Guangzhou Exchanges Hold International Jewelry & Diamond Conference

(IDEX Online) – The Guangzhou Diamond Exchange and Guangdong Gems & Jade Exchange jointly organized the “Road & Belt, Hand in Hand - International Jewelry & Diamond Conference" on November 24.

The gathering was one of a series of annual meetings of the Guangdong Assets and Equity Exchange Group and was held in Panyu, Guangzhou. Among the speakers was Antwerp World Diamond Centre President Stephane Fischler, who is also Acting President of the World Diamond Council.

The conference received the support of the Gems & Jewellery Association of China, the China Gold Association, the Diamond Administration of Shanghai; the Shanghai Diamond Exchange; and chambers of commerce representing many industries in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

It was attended by a range of associations and organizations in the gems and diamonds industries from Belgium, Israel, Sri Lanka and Thailand and other countries, as well as from De Beers and other firms, the organizers reported.

Close to 300 people attended the annual conference, as well as representatives of the key member companies of the two exchanges, who together explored the state of growth of the gems and diamonds industry and its direction in China and overseas. They sought to create more opportunities for multi-lateral and in depth dialogue and collaboration.
