Sales Pick up at 10th Sight
December 18, 19(IDEX Online) - De Beers today said it provisionally sold $425 million worth of rough diamonds at its tenth and final Sight of the year, which took place earlier this month. This compares to sales of $544 million in 2018. "Following continued polished diamond price stability in the lead up to the final sales cycle of the year, we saw further signs of steady demand for rough diamonds during Sight 10," said De Beers Group CEO Bruce Cleaver. For 2019, Sight sales total $4.04 billion (provisional). In 2018, Sight sales for the full year totaled $5.39 billion. The first Sight of 2020 will take place from January 20-24.
