"Glimmer of Optimism" among Consumers, says De BeersSeptember 27, 20
(IDEX Online) - Consumers are more likely to buy jewelry in the next six months than at any other time during the pandemic, says De Beers.
Its monthly research into diamond spending during the COVID-19 crisis reveals what it calls a "glimmer of optimism".
Both men and women are more likely to purchase or receive diamond jewelry in the next six months, compared to previous coronavirus waves. Women also say they are wearing more diamond jewelry.
"With this new level of optimism, we see an increased comfort level shopping, with consumers opting for pieces that represent enduring value," says the fourth Diamond Insight Flash Report, based on research during August.
De Beers Group says it is working actively in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic to understand the consumer perspective as the crisis continues.
