Lusix to Expand Lab Grown Production with $45m Investment
February 10, 22(IDEX Online) - Lusix, the lab grown company, has raised $45m to build a new plant in Israel and expand its production.
The new facility, in the central city of Modi'in, will be five times the size of its current facility and is due to open later this year.
The company announced on Monday that it had secured funding from a consortium led by Israel-based Ragnar and including More Investment House, Gefen Capital and Maverick Ventures.
Lusix was founded in December 2019 by Benny Landa (pictured) who said it was "a chance to bring back to Israel a diamond-production industry — but diamond synthesis, not polishing."
He is widely regarded as the father of commercial digital printing. Landa sold his company Indigo to HP for $830m.
