(IDEX Online) - There were more losses again in July, especially among rounds, as the war continues in Ukraine. A more mixed picture for fancies. The only clear upward trend is among larger 'investment type' stones of 4.0-cts to 5.0-cts, which is typical when financial markets are weak and investors seek greater stability.

Rounds

Rounds sustained heavy losses, especially among 1.50-cts to 2.99-cts, where the vast majority of L+ and SI3+ goods dropped in price. There were also losses, though less marked, among 0.50-cts to 1.49-cts, mostly in J+ / SI+ goods, albeit with odd increases. Prices rose among 5.00-cts to 5.99-cts, especially among SI+. There were also some price rises in 4.00-cts to 4.99-cts, in K-N / SI+, with decreases in better colors. Goods under 0.50-cts saw relatively little activity.

 

Fancies

A mixed picture, with less activity and less in the way of clear trends, except for near-blanket increases among 5.00cts to 5.99-cts. Among 0.18-cts to 0.22-cts there were marked drops among L-N / IF-SI3. Price increases outweighed decreases in 0.30-cts to 0.44-cts, in 1.00-cts to 1.24-cts and 3.00-cts to 3.99-cts.
