Chance to Buy Bogart and Bacall's Wedding Rings
September 03, 23(IDEX Online) - Matching gold wedding rings that belonged to Hollywood icons Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall are to be auctioned in Los Angeles.
The couple exchanged the rings when they married in May 1945 after falling in love during filming of To Have and Have Not when she was 19 and he was 45.
They remained together until Bogart's death in January 1957. Bacall died in 2014.
The 14k gold rings, from Bogart's estate, are being sold as a single lot and carry a $100,000 to $200,000 estimate and are part of the Hollywood: Legends & Royalty auction at Julien's Auctions in a three-day sale of over 1,400 items.
Among other lots is a gold bracelet with a whistle charm that Bogart gave Bacall, recalling one of her most famous lines, from To Have and Have Not: "You don't have to say anything, and you don't have to do anything. Not a thing. Oh, maybe just whistle." Estimate $100,000 to $200,000.
Also for sale is a a gold heart-shaped locket bearing the inscription "Baby/heres my heart/Bogie," with a high estimate of $20,000.
