HB Antwerp's "Ground-Breaking" Software for Botswana Polishers
October 12, 23(IDEX Online) - HB Antwerp has unveiled "ground-breaking" software for diamond polishing, to be used at its new facility in Botswana.
It says The Navigator will provide its polishers with "unparalleled control and accuracy", with its 3D capabilities.
"The Navigator is not just a technological advancement; it's a game-changer for the mineral industry," said Tom Munters, R&D director at HB.
"We believe this development will redefine how diamonds are polished, setting new standards for precision and uniformity."
HB Antwerp, a tech-driven startup, had a 10-year deal with Lucara to sell specials from its Karowe mine, in Botswana. But Lucara pulled the plug last month after high-level disagreements at HB.
The company's new software is exclusively for the use of its polishers in Botswana and will not be sold.
"The Navigator effortlessly empowers polishers to install specific settings based on digital 3D plans," said HB in a press release.
"This innovative approach ensures the polishing tang settings align with the desired design, resulting in flawless gemstones."
