Signet Pledges to Raise another $100m for Children's Hospital
October 31, 23(IDEX Online) - Signet Jewelers has pledged to raise another $100m for children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
The biggest jewelry retailer in the US, with over 2,800 outlets and global sales of $8.32bn last year, says it will continue its support for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which is based in Memphis, Tennessee, USA, and has eight affiliate clinics.
Signet has raised $100m for the hospital over the last 25 years. It donates the proceeds from its annual sale of plush puppies and bears at its stores, inspires customers to donate money at the register and online, and supports the St. Jude Memphis Marathon® Weekend and other fundraising events.
"Treatments developed at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% in the United States and we at Signet are so proud to have been a partner in the fight to increase survivorship," said Virginia C. Drosos, CEO of Signet Jewelers.
"Our next $100m commitment will help increase this even further and also go toward increasing survival rates around the world, where they are much lower. We won't stop fighting for a world in which no child dies in the dawn of life."
