Mercedes Adds Diamond Dazzle to Car Doors

(IDEX Online) - When only the most luxurious door lock pins will do, Mercedes has the answer.
It has embedded a 0.25 carat diamond into all four in the "Stronger than Diamonds" limited edition of its $143,000-plus G550 model, which launched on Valentine's Day.
It did not provide details of cut, color or clarity. But due an unfortunate error its press release said there was a "25-carat diamond set into all four stainless steel door locking pins, while exterior handles feature embossed diamond logo".
The diamonds come with a certificate from the Responsible Jewelry Council, guaranteeing they've been responsibly sourced.
Only 300 special edition G550s are being made. They feature a special rose gold paint and Stronger Than Diamonds branding on the front passenger grab handle and illuminated door sills.
