April 22, 24(IDEX Online) - A jeweler is to appear before a US court next month charged in connection with the death of another jeweler David Ettinger, 69.
David Walton, 41, will face a grand jury in Dallas, Texas, on 9 May, charged with aggravated assault.
Both men were attending the Independent Jewelers Organization (IJO) show, at the Hilton Anatole hotel (pictured) in March and were drinking at the bar.
Walton, 41, from New York, pushed Ettinger, from West Virginia, "in response to being attacked," police wrote in an arrest-warrant affidavit seen by The Dallas Morning News.
Ettinger, who had just retired and who was attending the show with his wife to, fell to the floor and struck his head. He died in hospital later of his injuries.
Walton called 911 but left the scene before police arrived, according to the affidavit.
