Two Guilty over Murder of US Jeweler
June 05, 24
(IDEX Online) - A hitman and a lawyer have been convicted of a murder-for-hire plot in which a jeweler was shot dead and his wife was hit in the leg.
Daniel "Hutch" Hutchinson, 47, (pictured) was at the wheel of his SUV, with his wife Marisa, close to his Hutch's Jewelry store in Oakland County, Detroit, Michigan, USA, in June 2022. He had rappers and other performers among his high-profile clientele.
Marco Bisbikis, the couple's lawyer, and Roy Larry, were both convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder after an eight-day trial.
Bisbikis was accused of writing himself into Hutchinson's will and then plotting the murder with several other men.
In her testimony Marisa Hutchinson described a casual business relationship the couple had with Bisbikis. They would fail to declare some cash sales over $10,000 to the IRS and he would handle the payments, she said.
Two other defendants, Darnell Larry and Angelo Raptoplous, admitted charges related to the plot.
