(IDEX Online) - A pair of ruby and diamond ear clips, with an estimate of $1.2m to $1.6m (HK$9.4m to HK$12.5m) will lead the Phillips' Hong Kong Jewels Auction next month.
They're among a number of Burmese ruby lots that will be offered for sale on 3 October.
The clips are set with an oval ruby weighing 10.77 and 9.99 carats respectively (no indications of heating), surrounded by brilliant-cut diamonds, mounted in platinum and yellow gold.
Another highlight of the sale is a ruby and diamond necklace featuring 54.18 carats of graduated cushion-shaped, oval and circular-cut rubies, mostly pigeon blood red in color, spaced by white pear-shaped diamonds. The estimate is $1m to $1.15m (HK$7.8m to HK$9m).
"The global jewellery demand has remained resilient especially for high jewellery, and we have a steady and positive growth this year in Phillips," said senior specialist Janet Lam.
"In H1 2024, we saw a more than 190% annual increase in Phillips' global jewellery auction sales compared to 2023."
