IDEX Price Report for 1 October: Decline Goes on for Rounds and Fancies
October 01, 24(IDEX Online) - There were small pockets of price increases for polished goods in September, but the overall direction of travel remains downwards for both rounds and fancies. There were few signs of the long hoped-for recovery. Consumer demand remains weak and the popularity of lab growns is increasing. India's manufacturing was down again during August by almost a quarter year-on-year, and trading remains slow in all major hubs.
Rounds
Price drops dominated in all goods over 0.50-cts, with fewer pockets of increases than we have seen in recent months. Among 1.0-cts to 1.24-cts the price of all G+ and VS1+ goods fell. Prices of the majority of colors and clarities among 5.00-cts also fell, although there was more of a mixed picture in goods of 1.50-cts and above. Little activity among goods under 0.50-cts.
