Cartier Clock and 17-ct Ring Lead Paris Auction

October 07, 24 by John Jeffay

(IDEX Online) - A Cartier jewelled desk clock and a 17.19 carat diamond solitaire ring will lead an auction later this month by Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr Paris.

The rare 1930 Art Deco clock has a mother-of-pearl dial, diamond-set Roman numeral hands and a diamond fan hour hand mounted on an onyx base. It has an estimate of €120,000 to €180,000 ($128,000 to $193,000).

The 1935 platinum ring is claw-set with a brilliant-cut VS1 diamond, N to R color, with an estimate of €80,000 to €120,000 ($88,000 to $128,000).

They're among 174 lots in a live sale on 23 October by the French auction house acquired by Bonhams in 2022.

Many are signed jewels from Cartier, Boucheron, Bulgari, Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co., Van Cleef & Arpels, Buccelatti, Christian Dior, and other notable houses.

Lots cover Art Deco to contemporary designs, featuring diamonds, sapphires, rubies and emeralds.
