5-ct Blue Diamond with $10m High Estimate
October 10, 24(IDEX Online) - A platinum ring set with a of 5.02 carat blue diamond is expected to fetch up to $10.3m (HKD 80m) when it is offered by Christie's Hong Kong later this month.
The center stone is an internally flawless, fancy deep blue marquise brilliant-cut diamond (pictured), as graded by GIA.
The ring is dated 1923 and is described in the sales catalog as "property of a lady," although no further details are provided.
It will jointly lead the 124-lot Magnificent Jewels live sale on 29 October, together with a pair of diamond "Oriental Sunrise" earrings.
They feature two fancy vivid orange-yellow diamonds (12.20 carats and 11.96 carats). They also carry a $10.3m (HKD 80m) high estimate.
