Canada's Diamond Mines Join Forces for Charity
November 12, 24(IDEX Online) - A one-of-a-kind diamond pendant, set with a stone donated by each of the three mines in Canada's Northwest Territories, is to be auctioned for charity.
It features a round brilliant-cut 0.41 carat Ekati diamond (Burgundy), a radiant-cut 0.51 carat Gahcho Kue diamond (De Beers and Mountain Province), and a round brilliant-cut 0.41 carat Diavik diamond (Rio Tinto).
The diamonds are set in 18-karat white gold in a bespoke caribou antler design, paying homage to the unique Northern origin of the gems, designed by Adamas Diamonds.
The pendant will be auctioned on 28 November at the 2024 NWT Max Awards, celebrating the people making a difference in the Northwest Territories Mining and Exploration industry.
Proceeds will go to the Yellowknife Community Fundraising Club's Adopt-A-Family program.
Kathy Gray, spokesperson for the MAX Awards, said: "This generous contribution will go a long way in helping us achieve our goal, ensuring that Adopt-A-Family can provide holiday gifts, winter clothing, and food to children in need."
