Five Arrested after Waldorf Astoria Watch Raid
January 27, 25(IDEX Online) - Police have arrested five people after a smash and grab raid at a luxury watch store at the Waldorf Astoria hotel, in Beverly Hills, California, USA.
They smashed glass cases and stole valuables from the high-end Wrist Aficionado outlet, which stocks Patek Philippe, Rolex and Audemars Piguet.
A security guard was hurt in the incident but is expected to recover.
Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) said they chased a black Mercedes sedan, arrested five suspected raiders and recovered some stolen items.
They are still trying to locate an additional vehicle and more suspects.
"Officers responded promptly to reports of a 'smash and grab' robbery at a local hotel, during which a security guard sustained injuries," BHPD said I a statement. "The victim was treated and is expected to recover."
The suspects, all from Los Angeles have been booked on suspicion of felony robbery, burglary, organized retail theft and criminal conspiracy.
