Hong Kong Full Steam Ahead as Christie’s Breaks another Record

(IDEX Online News) - A pair of D-color Golconda diamonds, dubbed The Imperial Cushions, sold for a world record price of $200,000 p/c at Christie's Hong Kong Magnificent Jewellery sale.
A 13.39-carats marquise-cut fancy blue, VVS2 diamond was bought by Leviev for $7,568,650, or $565,000 p/c.
"With $110 million changing hands in two days, we have just concluded our best season for jewelry and watches in Asia," said Vickie Sek, Director of the Jewellery and Jadeite Department at Christie’s
The Tuesday auction totaled $89.5 million, with 80% sold by lot and 89% sold by value.
The two top priced items at Christie's this week. An anonymous purchased these earrings for $9.3 million; the
blue diamond ring was bought by Leviev for $7.6 million
