Sarin Launching a Light Measuring Device

(IDEX Online News) – Sarin Technologies Ltd is launching its light performance system, the Sarin D-Light. The device measures a polished diamond’s appearance by measuring its light performance characteristics.

The D-Light quantifies a diamond’s appearance by measuring brilliance - how much white light is reflected; fire - how much light is broken into colored bursts of light; sparkle - how intense are the diamond’s sudden flashes of light; and light symmetry - how symmetric is the play of light returned from the diamond.

According to Sarin, the D-Light can serve the diamond industry in varied ways. Enable manufacturers to increase the quality of their polished diamonds by optimizing their light performance, differentiate between diamonds based on their light performance, enhance the consumer shopping experience and allow the retailer to engage the customer in a unique, exciting and memorable experience.

The D-Light will be showcased at the September Hong Kong Jewellery Fair opening Monday.

According to CEO Uzi Levami, Sarin will supply tools and services to the entire industry pipeline, from manufacturer to jewelry retailer, to better manufacture, trade and sell their polished diamonds with additional emphasis on readily viewable and understandable information based on light performance.
