Sterling Taps Ed Hrabak as New COO

“Although I am very happy for Bill as he enters the next chapter of his life, his tireless commitment to Sterling and strong and impactful leadership presence will be missed after his retirement,” said Mark Light, Sterling’s president and CEO. “Bill’s numerous contributions have been felt throughout Sterling and are a key reason for our past and recent successes.”

Hrabak began his career as a buyer at J.B. Robinson Jewelers in 1978 then joined Sterling Jewelers Inc. in 1987 as a merchandise buyer. In 1990, he was promoted to divisional manager and then vice president of Merchandising in 1993. In 2002, he became the senior vice president and general merchandising manager.

Sterling also announced that Stuart Lee, vice president of Merchandising, will succeed Hrabak as senior vice president, Merchandising. Lee will be replaced by Dawn McGuire, vice president of Mall Merchandising.

Akron, Ohio-based Sterling Jewelers Inc. is a subsidiary Signet Jewelers Limited, the largest specialty retailer jeweler in the U.S. and the UK.
