Arrest Made in Schiphol Robbery

May 19, 05 by Edahn Golan

Dutch police arrested a 39-year-old man who works at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport in connection with the $100 million diamond robbery that took place February 25.

Identified only as Marcel L., the suspect is employed by the Martinair airline, and, according to the Dutch press, has been a suspect for some time.

He is a resident of Diemen, near the airport, living not far from where the thieves’ get-away vehicle was found burnt out after the heist.

The man is suspected of several offences in connection with the planning of the armed robbery, reports Expactica.

Following his arrest yesterday (Wednesday) morning his house was searched and his computer and documents were confiscated.
