DTC Raising Prices by Around 3% from June Sight

June 01, 05 by Albert Robinson

The Diamond Trading Company (DTC) said today (Wednesday) that due to a strong first quarter in key consumer markets and with continued consumer confidence projected for the remainder of the year, there will be a price rise of under 3 percent effective from the June Sight.

The June Sight, the fifth of the year, will take place from June 6-10.

The DTC, De Beers’ marketing arm, said the price increase would be focused on categories where there is the strongest demand for polished, and the rise would vary from box to box.

DTC spokeswoman Lynette Hori said if, “Market conditions remain as forecast, no further price adjustment is planned for this season”.

The rise had been widely expected by Sightholders who had expected the rise to come into force during Sight 4 at the start of last month.
