WFDB Hails CRJP’s Work

The World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) hailed the Council for Responsible Jewellery Practices (CRJP) for its “continuing commitment to engagement and collaboration” at its Stakeholder Dialogue in London last month.

“WFDB congratulates the CRJP and its membership on the constructive engagement held with the jewelry industry and NGO stakeholders at the event,” said WFDB President Ernie Blom. “The CRJP Stakeholder Dialogue was an excellent forum for all participants to share their ideas and experiences. WFDB looks forward to future collaborative events of this kind."

Blom said the WFDB shares the CRJP’s desire to reinforce consumer confidence, adding that both organizations are committed to promoting ethical accountability in the diamond industry through credible systems of auditing, monitoring and enforcement.

“WFDB looks forward to further cooperation with CRJP as we work to ensure that the WFDB Mark and the CRJP’s verification system serve to reinforce consumer confidence throughout the entire diamond supply chain,” Blom added.

CRJP’s CEO Michael Rae will attend the WFDB and IDMA Presidents’ Meeting to be held in Amsterdam in June.
