Lazare Kaplan Earnings $420,000 in Q1

DTC Sightholder Lazare Kaplan International earned $420,000, a turnaround from last year’s comparative loss of $1.825 million. Net sales for the period fell to $102.6 million from $138.9 million in 2006, a 26.13 percent fall.
The drop in net sales was explained as stemming from a reduction in sales from rough diamond trading, only partially offset by an increase in sales of polished diamonds.
