NCDIA Member Mondial Neuman Wins at JAA Awards

September 24, 08 by Sergio Tjong-Alvares

Mondial Neuman won two awards at the Jewelers Association of Australia (JAA) September competition, The Natural Color Diamond Association (NCDIA) said on Wednesday.

All three pieces which NCDIA member Mondial Neuman entered into the JAA’s Jewelry Designs Awards competition were finalists, the trade organization said in a statement.

The first piece, which won the diamonds above $5,000 retail category, called “Truth-Love-Desire” was crafted by Nadia Neuman using 18 karat yellow, white and rose gold as well as titanium. It features a blue marquise, a pink trilliant and a yellow pear shape diamond from the Australian Argyle mine. The necklace is designed to be worn in alignment with Chakras, Sanskrit for a center of activity that receives, assimilates, and expresses life force energy, which the colors of the diamonds relate to.

The second under $5,000 retail category winner is called “Totem” and was made by Alison Page using 18K rose, yellow and white gold set with natural champagne to cognac colored diamonds. The piece represents the human connection to the earth through the Aboriginal concept of Totem; a symbolic representation of identity universal to the indigenous peoples of the world.

“Consumers are always looking for exciting new designs. The use of natural color diamonds within designs are the perfect match as they embody the emotional values of diamonds with the personality and individuality of color,” Robert Lucien May, executive director of the NCDIA said.
