Note To Our Readers

August 24, 06 by Chaim Even-Zohar

A leading industry player has made serious allegation of a possible illegal anti-trust violation in respect to certain dynamics surrounding the development of nomenclatures to be used for gemological grading reports for synthetics diamonds. That warrants a major news story. My staff and myself worked a few days around the clock to get all the facts, cover all the angles, get the necessary historical background and secure relevant stakeholders comments to be able to provide our readers with a fair and balanced story in this weekly “Tacy Memo”.

Reading the final draft of our article left me with the uncomfortable feeling that I “may have missed” something. Something wasn’t adding up. The need to meet a deadline may never become an excuse for airing a view on a delicate, important and sensitive issue in an incomplete or irresponsible manner. I beg for our readers’ indulgence: reluctantly I have “spiked” my own column and hope to make-up for it next week.

Have a nice weekend.
