A Summertime Lullaby
July 20, 11Summer time is here. Some diamond traders have returned this week from their vacations, finding that prices and demand are up, while supply is tighter. Many other traders just left or are about to leave for their annual summer vacations.
It is a time to relax, stretch, let go of daily routines, replace them with a brief excursion to change.
Some will rest from what's behind them; others make plans for what's ahead.
Whatever you do, wherever you do it, return rejuvenated for what lies ahead. Have a peaceful weekend and time off.
Vacations are planned and taken,
drinks poured, stirred, not shaken,
the wind warm, air humid, thoughts swirling
beaches visited, waves curling.
Inventories, interest, insurance fees
prices, margins, opportunities to seize,
plans like planes, departing far,
leaving behind a concern's scar.
Salty summer air hosts others,
laborers, workers, villagers, brothers
temples, friends, cricket days,
hopes for children that we raise.
In DC debt ceiling falls,
Euro summer pushing economic walls,
A sturdy built, not a house of cards.
Time for summer to sink in,
worries evaporate that's no sin,
then return to start anew,
hoping Christmas pulls us through.
