Rough Conference Launches at Renovated Oppenheimer Museum

The Third International Rough Diamond Conference was inaugurated this morning at the Israel Diamond Exchange in Ramat Gan, with a ceremony marking the reopening of the Harry Oppenheimer Museum and a tour of the newly renovated facility.

The chairman of the museum’s board of directors and honorary president of the Israel Diamond Exchange and the World Federation of Diamond Bourses, Shmuel Schnitzer, presided over the event and delivered opening remarks.

Guests of honor included De Beers Managing Director Gareth Penny, DTC Managing Director Varda Shine, President of IsDMA and IDI Moti Ganz and President of the Israel Diamond Exchange Avi Paz.

The museum was originally opened in the 1980s and has since undergone a major facelift to provide visitors with a high-tech, interactive experience.
