Moissanite Maker Predicts Sharp Rise in Q4 Sales

Charles & Colvard Ltd, makers of moissanite, a created jewel used in fine jewelry, said it expects fourth quarter sales to nearly double due to retail and advertising programs.

The company forecasts sales of $8.1 million to $8.6 million for the quarter compared with $4.8 million in the year-earlier quarter.

Charles & Colvard said its buoyant projections follow manufacturing partner Reeves Park's decision to place moissanite jewelry on the website of national retail chain Ross-Simons.

Charles & Colvard predicted in October strong fourth-quarter and 2005 sales thanks to increased advertising.
