IDEX Poll: 43% See Drop in Q2, 46% See Sales Increase

Pretty much split evenly, respondents to the IDEX Online poll saw a mix second quarter. Some saw sales and profits rise during the period, some had only better sales and nearly half said the second quarter was not kind to them.

This week IDEX Online asked ‘How was your second quarter compared to last year?’ 13 percent of respondents said “Profits and sales increased”, and another 32 percent said “Sales increased”. So while nearly half of respondents saw sales rise during the quarter, two thirds of them experienced eroding profits.

10 percent of respondents to the poll said the second quarter was “About the same as last year”.

Most respondents, 43 percent, replied that business during the second quarter was “Less than last year”.
