Aber Diamond to Change Name to Harry Winston Diamond Corp

Shareholders of Canadian diamond firm Aber Diamond Corp. have approved a name change to Harry Winston Diamond Corp. The move, discussed quietly for many months, will allow the company to increase its brand recognition.

At its annual general meeting Wednesday, Chairman Robert Gannicott told shareholders that changing the name to Harry Winston Diamond will promote the company's equity, which will promote its jewelry products in turn and vice versa.

After buying a controlling stake in Harry Winston in April 2004, Toronto-based Aber took full ownership of the luxury jewelry retailer last September.
