JSA Publishes Second Edition of Jewelry Crime Prevention Bible
May 30, 04The Jewelers’ Security Alliance (JSA) has published the second edition of what it calls the “Bible of crime prevention for jewelers”. Written by JSA President John Kennedy and Vice-President Robert Frank, the book provides the organization’s advice on the full range of security issues facing jewelers.
The new edition is a major revision of the 1996 edition and contains new sections on subjects such as computer security, internal theft and local crime alert networks.
It has been updated with the latest information on robbery, burglary and theft techniques and the measures jewelers can take to protect themselves. The manual is being sent free to all JSA members and to more than 1,000 law enforcement personnel in the United States who have responsibilities involving jewelry crime.
“This is the only book in the world on the subject of jewelry security,” Kennedy said.
“It is the Bible of crime prevention for jewelers. Everyone in the jewelry industry, and everyone in the household of a jeweler, should read this book and follow its advice. Over 18,000 copies of the first edition were distributed to JSA members or sold to non-members. I expect this second and greatly improved edition to be even more widely read.”
