Alrosa 2009 Diamond Output $2.24 Billion

Alrosa expects its 2009 diamond output to total $2.24 billion, the Russian diamond miner said on Wednesday. Its sales are to total $2.19 billion in 2009, $923.4 million of it to the Russian state repository Gokhran and the rest to the market.
In a meeting chaired by Alrosa President Fyodor Andreyev, the company's management board examined the results of the diamond miner's production and economic performance in 2009.
Most of the year’s sales, which totaled $2.13 billion, were rough diamond sales with $60 million for cut diamonds, according to details released on Alrosa’s website.
In 2010, the company expects its output to reach $2.31 billion and forecasts diamond sales to hit $3.3 billion, the statement said.
Alrosa expects to end 2009 with a net profit of 3.18 billion rubles ($106 million).
