Role of WFDB in “New Normal” High on Conference Agenda
July 08, 10The role of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) will be high on the agenda at the World Diamond Congress, which takes place in Moscow from Sunday July 11 to Tuesday July 13.

WFDB president Avi Paz has asked attendees to come “well prepared” to participate in an open discussion about the organization’s position. In a pre-conference message, he called for, “suggestions and constructive ideas that will contribute to the advancement of the diamond business in what is now called the 'new normal' economy."
The meeting will also see the first diamond exchange established on the Korean Peninsula, the South Korean Diamond Exchange, formally apply for WFDB membership. The bourse is located in Gyeongju Gyeongbuk where it is developing a secure, state-of-the art facility. It will be represented at the congress by its president Jae Kim.
The congress, which is held every two years, is being is hosted by the Diamond Chamber of Russia and the Russian Diamond Manufacturers Association, in cooperation with the Moscow Diamond Bourse.
The conference will be followed by the World Diamond Council annual meeting in St. Petersburg, which opens on July 14.
