India International Jewellery Week to Open Next week

India’s diamond and jewelry industry is launching a new trade show, toted as the first of its kind in Asia. The five-day event will have collections from only 30 of India’s leading jewelry designers, design houses and budding talents.
India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) organizers, the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), have organized heavy media coverage of the event, including nine TV shows on three TV channels.
The event will be inaugurated with a show by Gitanjali Lifestyle.
Exhibitors come from across India and include designers Farah Khan Ali, Varun D Jani, Bina Goenka and Rhea Nasta, as well as design houses such as Mirari, Gitanjali, Amrapali, Tanishq and Ganjam. The show will also showcase upcoming talents.
The Best of Best Show will highlight jewelry from each participating designer and design house
Among the IIJW attendees will be high-end retailers from India and abroad and celebrities from fashion, TV, film and corporate world, including leading Bollywood stars. Buyers from Japan, Russia, UK, China Italy, Thailand, Malaysia, Libya, Morocco, Iran, Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan confirmed their arrival.
“Having attained our leadership in diamond manufacturing,” says GJEPC Chairman Vasant Mehta, “its time to showcase India’s expertise in design and make India the most sought after destination for designer jewelry.”
IIJW will be held at Hotel Grand Hyatt, Santa Cruz, Mumbai, August 15-19.
