Online Diamond Retailer Sells $250K Pendant
December 18, 06
The way consumers buy jewelry is changing. To prove it, all you have to do is take a look at Union Diamond’s recent sale on its jewelry website where a client bought a $250,000 three-stone pendant - online. The previous highest online sale for that company was a single purchase for $200,000.
However, while this may be the largest sale for this company, four years ago diamond.com sold a 23 carat diamond ring online for $950,000.
Scott Anderson, president and CEO of Union Diamond said, “As we have previously found, the public has become increasingly comfortable with buying diamonds and jewelry online. While purchases in the six figures have become commonplace, larger purchases at the quarter million dollar mark illustrate the continuing trust that our clients place in Union Diamond.”
Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Union Diamond is a privately-held company with an online showroom as well as a flagship store in the historic Vinings area of Atlanta.
