Levine took her love of fine jewelry and animals to its next logical step by introducing a line of fine, high-end, designer dog leads and collars, which made their official debut at the JANY Winter Show.
“People are clamoring to use their dogs as an expression of their individual style as well as their affluence,” says Levine. “They want something different.”
The Alligator Leather Dog Collars and Leashes, which bear the designer's signature pave-set diamond open-paw print motif and carry a price range between $4,000 and $9,000, can be customized for the truly discerning dog. Andrea is also manufacturing a line of matching leather belts for dog owners.
Launched in July 2006, this line, which retails between $300 and $6,000, was awarded the JANY Summer Show's coveted Golden Apple Award for Sparkle at its trade debut. Previous winners of the award include Kwiat, Robert Lee Morris, and Erica Courtney, so Andrea Levine is in excellent company, running with the big dogs.
The line is available at select boutiques and jewelry stores nationwide.
And, lest you think she's missed the celebrity factor, Levine's early success has captured the attention of celebrities such as Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters who have been spotted wearing some of her pieces. So, all we're wondering is what's next? Diamond encrusted pooper-scoopers?
