Jewelry Channel to Go Off Air, Lay Off More than 100 Workers

The company, established in April 2007 to sell jewelry through its programming channel, did not provide any explanation for the move.
Initially, approximately 140 people were hired to work in the studio, the Journal said.
In February of this year, the Jewelry Channel broadcast a home shopping jewelry auction to sell 15 pieces of luxury jewelry, worth over $1 million in total. In addition to live programming, the channel also runs short documentaries about jewelry setting and aspects of the jewelry business.
