The HRD Awards is a leading diamond jewelry design contest. The competition’s goal is to foster creative talent, with entrants encouraged to let their imaginations soar.
In the past, the competition with its wide exposure in the industry has proven to be a valuable stepping stone for young designers on their way to successful careers in the jewelry industry.
With the choice of the theme, AWDC wants to inspire contest entrants with the mystery of dualism. AWDC hopes that young designers express through the designs “the interplay of two elements which are irreversibly intertwined, sometimes complementary and sometimes in contradiction.”
AWDC coordinates the extensive global promotional campaign to highlight the jewelry produced by the finalists and laureates of the HRD Awards 2011. It will include a printed and online catalogue, an international media program and a traveling jewelry exhibition that will appear worldwide in museums, trade fairs and industry events during the course of 2011 and 2012.
The deadline for registration and the initial submission of designs is October 15, 2010. Finalists will need to produce the jewelry, with the sponsorship of Antwerp-based diamond firms. An awards ceremony will be held in Antwerp on June 30, 2011.
