Antwerp's Net Rough Exports Double in a Single Month
August 11, 11(IDEX Online News) –
The rise in exports is a mixture of sharply rising prices and volumes. The average value of the net exports in July increased to $108.48 from $68.15 p/c in June and $102.23 p/c in July 2010, based on figures released by the AWDC.
The volume of net exports, 4.1 million carats, is an increase of more than 40%.
The average value of net exports is however below the average value of gross imports ($155.33 p/c) or exports ($140.81 p/c), an unusual occurrence. One possible explanation is that the cheaper goods, usually bought by Indian traders, were not picked up after DTC's last Sight.
