Malabar to Open 20 New Showrooms

(IDEX Online) - Malabar Gold and Diamonds is to open 20 news showrooms next month, in UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, US (Artesia, Los Angeles, and Atlanta, Georgia) and India.

The move "aligns with our vision to become the world's leading retail jeweller," said Malabar Group chairman M P Ahammed.

Malabar, founded in India 1993, now has a $6.2bn annual turnover, 355 showrooms across 13 countries, and is currently the world's sixth largest jewelry retailer. It has 15 manufacturing units in five countries.  

Its new showrooms in India will be in Uttar Pradesh (3), Delhi (2), Maharashtra (2), Karnataka (2), Rajasthan (2), Odisha (1), Telangana (1), West Bengal (1), and Punjab (1).

In June, Malabar opened its first European showroom, in London. In May it opened what it claims is the world's largest jewelry showroom - 110,000sq ft - in Cochin, Kerala, India.
