NRF Forecasts Record Valentine's Day Spend on Jewelry
February 05, 25(IDEX Online) - US consumers will spend a record $6.5bn on jewelry this Valentine's Day, according to the National Retail Federation (NRF).
That's a slight increase on the actual spend of $6.4bn in 2024 (the forecast was for $6.5bn).
It represents almost a quarter of the total Valentine's Day spend, estimated at $27.5bn, up from $25.8bn last year.
Consumers are expected to spend $5.4bn on an evening out, $2.9bnon flowers, $2.5bn on candy and $1.4bn on greeting cards.
The NRF, in a joint survey with the business intelligence company Prosper Insights & Analytics, said candy was the most popular Valentine's choice (56 per cent), followed by flowers (40 per cent), greeting cards (40 per cent), an evening out (35 per cent), and jewelry (22 per cent).
