H2 ITO’s Handed out at Otherwise Quiet DTC Sight
June 03, 04Sightholders received from the DTC the scheduled allocations, their Intention To Offer (ITO), for the second half of the year. While some Sightholders were surprised at the shrunken allocations planned for the next five Sights, some unsupported reports say it’s 20 percent smaller, others say it should have been expected.
According to the latter, De Beers’ mines are at full capacity but since their own stock is much smaller then before, the miner does not have the kind of flexibility it enjoyed in the past.
Added to that are some issues regarding local allocations in South Africa and the result is fewer goods. Adding to the damper, Sightholders report the goods are expected to cost more.
What is left to find out are the deliveries – what and how much will be allocated at each of the coming five Sights.
Otherwise the Sight was almost uneventful, with the expected price hike not materializing.
Premiums on the DTC boxes continue to be high, rumored to be in the double digits.
