Aber Appoints New Executives to Key Positions
July 29, 04Aber Diamond Corporation has announced the appointment of several new executives to key management positions at luxury jewelry and watch retailer Harry Winston.
Aber bought a 51 percent controlling interest in Harry Winston in April and said it aims to revitalize the Harry Winston brand globally.
Peter Schneirla has been appointed Vice Chairman of Harry Winston and Vice President of Aber.
A renowned gemologist and jewelry expert, Schneirla will be responsible for merchandising, manufacturing and gemstone acquisition. He served as Senior Vice President of Jewelry and Manufacturing for Tiffany & Co from 1984 to 1992.
Meanwhile, Jim Seuss, also a former senior executive at Tiffany & Co, becomes President of Retail and Wholesale.
Ray Simpson has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Harry Winston and Vice President of Corporate Development at Aber. He is a former senior De Beers executive who helped establish the De Beers LV retail venture.
Robert Scott will continue as Chief Financial Officer of Harry Winston, while Susan Korb becomes Chief Marketing Officer. She is also a former Tiffany & Co employee, having worked at the luxury jeweler for 17 years.
Finally, Charles Stanley has been appointed Vice President of Market Development at Harry Winston and Director of Market Research at Aber.
