Sarin Promises Greater Diamond Yields with New Software
March 03, 05Sarin Technologies is releasing a new generation of rough planning software that it claims will enable increased flexibility in rough diamond production planning and greater yields in polished diamonds.

Sarin is an Israeli diamond technology company that develops and manufactures planning, evaluation, and measurement systems for diamond grading & gemstone production.
The new software, called Advisor, is a re-designed version of the firm's DiaExpert program. While earlier versions of the software were used to plan round and certain fancy shaped diamonds, the new software can be used to plan and evaluate fancy shaped cuts that are popular in the diamond jewelry consumer market.
“We have improved the parameters for the Princess cut, as manufacturers are eager to get even more out of their rough when cutting this square fancy shape,” said Product Manager David Block.
“In addition, we now also offer a full planning package for the Radiant cut, as this cut, too, offers manufacturers higher yields, thus increasing their profit margins, which, as we know, have been suffering for the past few years.”
Block said the new software featured a more user-friendly graphical interface giving it greater efficiency and intuitiveness.
