Angola Wants to Hold Producers Conference

According to a report in the Angolan press, the country wants to hold an international diamond producers conference, and has discussed this with the HRD in Antwerp.

Manuel Calado, Chair of the state owned Angola Diamonds Firm (Endiama), was quoted in the Angola Mining Magazine saying the conference will include the world’s biggest diamond producers.

According to the magazine, published by the Angolan Ministry of Geology and Mining, the idea was brought up during a meeting in Antwerp with Belgium’s High Council of Diamonds (HRD). Calado asked for the HRD’s help in organizing the conference.
