DDC to Bestow Honors at 75th Anniversary Celebration

The New York Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) will mark its 75th anniversary by honoring three industry leaders with lifetime achievement awards. The three are Shmuel Schnitzer, president of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses, Sergei Oulin, vice-president of Alrosa, and Kaushik Mehta, chairman of Eurostar.
Jacob Banda, president of the DDC, said, “The Diamond Dealers Club is especially pleased to bestow its highest honor on these outstanding leaders of our industry from key trading centers. Each honoree has contributed immeasurably to the success of the diamond business worldwide.”
The DDC itself is also being honored at the celebrations. The organization will receive the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Export Achievement Award. Special recognition will also be paid to long-time DDC members.
The 75th anniversary celebration will take place on Tuesday, May 16, at the Rainbow Room in New York City's Rockefeller Center.
“The prestigious location reflects how important this event is to its members, and the Achievement Awards ceremony will be a highlight of the evening,” says Banda.
